JUDA — The Juda-Albany Panthers pounded out 13 hits in a 10-0 rout of Monticello-New Glarus May 11.

Freshman Myah Johnson was 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and three RBIs for Juda-Albany. Brianna Dahl had two hits and two steals, while Emileigh Dallman tripled and had two hits. Jackie Nusbaum also finished the night with a pair of hits for the Panthers.

Alana Durtschi struck out seven batters with zero walks, scattering seven hits in five innings of work for Juda-Albany. Five days earlier, Avery Briggs dazzled on the mound in a 5-0 win over defending conference champion Argyle, striking out 11 and giving up just three hits while going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBIs.

Jaden Zuber took the loss for MNG, allowing nine earned runs in four innings. At the dish, Zuber collected a double and a single. Harley Disch also had two hits, while Alex Siegenthaler had a double.


Brodhead 4, Clinton 1

CLINTON — McKenna Young struck out 15 batters while allowing three hits, a walk and an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh to score in a May 11 Rock Valley Conference contest.

The Cardinals scored a run in the first inning, two in the fourth and another in the seventh to scratch off the win.

Sophia Leitzen tripled for Brodhead, while Taetum Hoesly had three hits and Madisyn Kail two.  


Barneveld 12, Monticello-New Glarus 0

MONTICELLO — Zuber and Alivia Palmer recorded MNG’s only two hits against the Eagles May 10.

Disch was tagged for the loss, allowing 19 hits and zero walks in five innings of work. 

Barneveld opened the night with an 8-run first inning, then added a run in both the third and fourth innings, and two more in the fifth.

Pecatonica 3, Argyle 0

ARGYLE — A pitchers dual saw the Vikings take advantage in the seventh inning May 11. 

Triniti Gruenenfelder doubled to left to open the inning, and with two outs Tessa Green and MMMM Hirsch hit back-to-back doubles — also to left. Hirsch scored on an error when Lexi McSherry sent a pitch to center field.

Chloe Schraepfer struck out 13 and allowed four hits, a walk and three hit batters for Pecatonica. Grace Ganshert, Argyle’s starter, struck out 18 with zero walks while allowing three hits.

At the plate, Ganshert tripled and stole a base, while Maggie Godfrey singled and Megan Johnson added a walk and a steal.


Argyle 12, Black Hawk 0

ARGYLE — Ganshert no-hit the Warriors May 10, striking out 13 and allowing a second-inning walk to break up the perfect game. 

At the plate, Ganshert had two doubles and stole two runs. The Orioles had seven extra base hits, with Jenny Helvogt, Oliva Isely, Chesney Leigh and Johnson all doubling, and Isely adding a triple.

Argyle scored three runs in the first, six in the second and three more in the third to take full control of the game. 

Anna Haldiman had Black Hawk’s walk. Ellie Edler was tagged for 12 earned runs on the mound, striking out one and allowing 13 hits, three walks and two hit batters reach base.

The Orioles were coming off a split doubleheader against Orangeville May 8, winning the morning game 19-8, while losing the afternoon contest 8-0.


Southwestern 9, Darlington 2

HAZEL GREEN — Brenna Grossen and Ashlynn Norgard each had three hits for Darlington, and Cori Golackson added two hits and two RBIs, but it wasn’t enough for the Redbirds to overcome the Wildcats May 10.

Southwestern took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning and doubled it in the fourth. A 6-run fifth inning broke the game wide open.

Josie Thomas pitched 4.2 innings for Darlington, allowing eight hits and two earned runs. Sophie Wiegel tossed another 1.1 innings, also giving up two earned runs.
