CUBA CITY — Argyle-Pecatonica continues to make small steps in the SWAL, taking fourth in its recent conference meet at Cuba City on Monday, April 24.

“It’s baby steps for this team,” Argyle-Pecatonica head coach Chuck Chandler said. “We played better than our first conference meet at Fennimore last week, but we can play better. I expect us to play better.”

The Orioles carded a team score of 186. Alex Ruetten shot a team best 39. Glenn Jayne recorded a score of 47, Evan Dochnal 48, Kyle Theorin 52 and Max Robertson 56.

Darlington finished sixth with a team score of 206. Olin Johnson led the Redbirds with a 47. Alex Fox carded a 51, Eli Aird 53, Oscar Thuli 55 and Austin Ford 59.

Monroe hosted a Badger West mini meet on Wednesday, April 26. The Cheesemakers took fifth of eight teams with a score of 349. Freshman Brock Brandli paced Monroe with a score of 80, placing him sixth overall with two other golfers. Bert Leach carded an 84, Seth Brandt 92, Aaron Benzschawel 93 and James Boyce 103.

In other local golf, Monticello-Belleville took third in a Capitol Conference meet at Edelweiss on Tuesday, April 25. Joshua Potter led the team with a 41. New Glarus took fifth of nine teams.
