WISCONSIN DELLS — The Rock County Fury girls hockey team earned a lopsided 8-0 victory over the Badger Lightning at Wisconsin Dells Dec. 12.

The Fury includes players from Green County including goalie Brooke Teubert of Brodhead, who had 13 saves in the shut-out win.

Rock County opened up the scoring with two goals in the first period. Sara Loerke scored the first goal on a slap-shot from the blue line, assisted by Alyssa Knauf. Knauf scored the second goal, skating the puck all the way from the Fury’s defensive zone to put the shot home.

Knauf scored the third goal with 8:00 left in the second period with assists from Anika Einbeck and Haley Knauf. At 6:37, Claudia Boehlke scored the fourth goal on a power play, assisted by Loerke. Haley Knauf then added two more goals within 1:17 of each other with assists credited to Sam Wells, Anika Einbeck and Loerke.

Loerke scored her second goal of the game at the start of the third period with an assist from Haley Knauf. The Fury’s final goal came from Anika Einbeck, assisted by Alyssa Knauf.

The Fury had 53 shots on goal and improved their record to 5-1 with the win.

The Fury will host the Stoughton Icebergs in Beloit, Thursday, Dec. 19, at 5 p.m. and host the Fox City Stars at SLICE in Monroe, Saturday, Dec. 21, at 1:30 p.m.
