BOSCOBEL — The Redbirds took care of business against the Bulldogs to stay in first place in the SWAL with a 63-49 road win Dec. 20.
Kathleen Mathias scored 22 points to lead Darlington, which also received 14 points from Kaylee Meyers. Nine Redbirds scored in the game, and as a team Darlington hit five 3-pointers.
Boscobel was led by Leah Wacker, who had 14 points, and Sarah Knowles, who had 11.
Darlington led 34-23 at halftime.
Albany 54, Monticello 29
ALBANY — Libby Beck exploded for 22 points, including 16 in the first half, as the Comets picked up a key Six Rivers East win Dec. 20.
Between Beck’s 16 and Brianna Dahl’s 12 points in the first half, Albany (8-3, 3-1 Six Rivers East) was able to take a 39-15 lead into halftime.
“Beck and Dahl’s big first half set the tone,” Albany coach Derik Doescher said. “Emileigh Dallman and Lily Brewer had great defensive games.”
Alyssen Noriega led Monticello (5-5, 2-2) with 10 points.
Evansville 52, Brodhead 29
BRODHEAD — Carissa Purdue and Onnikah Oliver each scored seven points, but the Cardinals were no match for the red-hot Blue Devils.
Evansville (5-5, 5-3) picked up major wins against East Troy (6-3, 6-2) and Whitewater (4-3, 4-3) before the rout in Brodhead.
The Blue Devils led 21-11 at halftime, but outscored the Cardinals (5-5, 3-5) 31-18 in the final 18 minutes. Paige Banks led all scorers with 18 points for Evansville.
