MONROE — The Cheesemakers had a game for the ages against Janesville Craig Jan. 25. Monroe had three players reach 20 points and the squad nearly cracked the century mark, winning 91-53.
Carson Leuzinger (21), JT Seagreaves (21), Cade Meyer (20) and Caleb Bunker (10) all reached double figures for Monroe, which jumped out to a 46-27 lead at halftime. The offense kept churning in the second half, as the Cheesemakers outscored Craig (5-9) by 19 points yet again.
Monroe (9-1) is ranked sixth in the state in Division 2. Up next for Monroe is a Jan. 30 road game at New Glarus (11-6), and then a Feb. 1 home game against Oregon (3-3).
Brodhead 63, McFarland 45
BRODHEAD — Owen Leifker had 23 points — including 16 in the first half — as the Cardinals (9-7) scored a solid win over McFarland (4-2) Jan. 25.
The Cardinals led 32-26 at halftime but pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Spartans 31-19.
Connor Green had 11 points for Brodhead, while Brady Malkow finished with 9 points and 11 rebounds. The Cardinals finished 14 of 18 from the free throw line and finished 7 of 16 from beyond the 3-point line.
Albany 60, Palmyra-Eagle 59
ALBANY — The Comets (5-9) took one down to the wire Jan. 25, defeating Palmyra-Eagle (3-11) in a nonconference game.
Rob Schroeder and Carson Brewer each scored 15 points for Albany, while Brayden Bakken had 8 and Clay Hulbert and Luke Johnson each finished with 7. The Comets were 15 of 24 from the free throw line.
Cameron Joyner and Ryan Carpenter each had 23 for Palmyra-Eagle, which finished 22 of 33 from the charity stripe.
In other area boys basketball action, Black Hawk defeated Barneveld 58-35.
