Five NG players garner Capitol South All-Conference

New Glarus senior Jared Carney was named Capitol South Conference co-Player of the Year along with Wisconsin Heights senior Bryce Duhr. Carney was also named first team all-conference as a pitcher. The Knights finished the season 10-6.

MONROE — New Glarus senior Jared Carney was named the Capitol South Conference co-Player of the Year along with Wisconsin Heights senior Bryce Duhr.

Carney was named first team all-conference as a pitcher and was one of three Glarner Knights to garner first-team all-conference honors. 

New Glarus finished the season 10-6 overall and lost in a regional championship game to Wisconsin Heights 4-3. Wisconsin Heights (9-1 Capitol South) was the conference champion. The Knights finished tied with Belleville for third in the conference (6-4), one game behind second-place Marshall (7-3).

New Glarus senior Noah Zimmerman was all-conference as an outfielder and senior Andrew Nimtz was all-conference as a utility player.

Sophomore Connor Siegenthaler was named second team all-conference at catcher. The Knights had two players earn honorable mention all-conference: senior Matthew Jackson (outfield) and freshman Cooper Dreyfus (outfield).


Parker gets first-team honors

New Glarus senior Riley Parker was named first team Capitol South all-conference recently.

Parker was the No. 1 pitcher for the Glarner Knights. Sophomore teammate Zoe Moen was named second team all-conference and was Parker’s battery mate at catcher.

Marshall senior Samira Arvin was named the conference’s player of the year and senior teammate Tayler Pache was the conference’s pitcher of the year. Marshall posted a 10-0 record to win the Capitol South Conference. 

The Cardinals had seven players honored as first or second team all-conference. Wisconsin Heights (8-2 Capitol South) had four first team all-conference players and took second.

New Glarus finished the season 1-14 overall and 1-9 in the Capitol South.
