BRODHEAD — The Cardinals jumped out to an 18-point halftime lead and never let up, defeating Clinton in a Rock Valley game Dec. 17 by a score of 78-52.

Owen Leifker scored 29 points to lead Brodhead, hitting four 3-pointers and going 7-for-8 from the free throw line along the way. He also added six rebounds and six assists. 

The Cardinals stole the ball 17 times as a team, hit eight 3s and went 18-for-28 from the line. Gage Boegli added 18 points with three 3s, while Brady Malkow tallied 15 points and six rebounds. 

Barneveld 76, Albany 47

BARNEVELD — Chase Ignatius lit up the Comets for 38 points, propelling the Eagles to victory Dec. 16. He hit four 3s and finished 4-for-6 from the charity stripe. Teammate Kasey Helgeson added 17 points.

Andy Gertsch and Tyler Anderson led Albany with 10 points, while Carson Brewer had eight and Ethan Koss tallied seven.

In other area action, Monticello defeated Pecatonica 49-41 on Dec. 16 and Warren toppled Argyle 50-42 Dec. 17. On Dec. 18, Black Hawk lost at home to Platteville 58-46.
