BRODHEAD — After winning their first conference title in 13 years, the Brodhead Cardinals boys basketball team had five players honored as all-conference for their efforts this season.
Senior sharpshooter Owen Leifker was a first-team selection, finishing third in the league in points per game at 20.7.
Senior forwards Brady Malkow and Josiah Engen were each second-team picks for Brodhead, while senior Gage Boegli and freshman Cullen Walker were recognized as honorable mention players.
Brodhead coach Tommy Meier was named the Rock Valley Coach of the Year after guiding his team to a 19-7 record and a 15-3 mark in league play. It was Brodhead’s first conference title since 2009. The Cardinals finished two games ahead of East Troy and McFarland.
Big Foot senior Gus Foster led the league in scoring (22.6 ppg) and was named the Rock Valley Player of the Year.
