NEW GLARUS — The Bluejays handed the Glarner Knights, ranked No. 12 in Division 3, their only losses of the season on May 3. With the losses, New Glarus must win out and hope Cambridge loses once to have even a share of the league title.

NEW GLARUS — The two teams concluded a game that was suspended due to lack of lights in the eighth inning. The Bluejays took advantage of a Knight error, walking the game off in the bottom of the ninth.
Matt Roth was the offensive spark, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Relief pitcher Leyton Mihlbauer was charged with the loss, giving up one unearned run on four hits. He struck out one in two innings of work.

NEW GLARUS — The opening loss blew the wind out of the Knights’ sails, as Bluejay Carter Lund pitched a no-hitter in the nightcap. Ashlin Mihlbauer and Nolan Julseth drew walks, and Leyton Mihlbauer reached on an error as the only runners of the game for NG.
Leyton Mihlbauer was the pitcher of record, giving up two earned runs on four hits. He walked just one.

BLANCHARDVILLE — The Vikings turned in a pair of shutouts against the Cardinals in a Six Rivers crossover double header on May 3.
In the opener, nine different batters recorded hits, while Tyler McKeon and Grady Gordon drove in two runs each. Drew Hendrickson pitched six innings of four-hit ball, striking out seven and walking two.
In the nightcap, Gordon earned a starting role and went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and one run scored. Jameson Johnson was 1-for-3 with a double and four RBIs. Lukas Rue collected the win, pitching four innings of two-hit ball. He struck out three and walked one.

CUBA CITY — Gage Banfield won a pitcher’s duel, giving his team a SWAL victory on May 3. Banfield struck out 10 batters, while the Cuban pitching staff combined for another 11 strikeouts.
Tye Crist, Maddox Goebel and Dante Glendenning went a combined 6-for-10 with a double and three RBIs. Banfield recorded all but one out, giving up two earned runs on eight hits.
CLINTON 8, MONROE 6
CLINTON — The Cheesemakers’ early 5-3 lead didn’t hold, as the Cougars came back to win a Rock Valley Conference game on May 3.
Ashton Hale and Keegan Dahmen went a combined 6-for-10 with four RBIs. The pair accounted for all but three of Monroe’s hits. Ethan Rosenstiel and Logan Meier drew a combined five walks.
Dahmen suffered the loss, giving up three earned runs on seven hits. He struck out two and walked two.
JEFFERSON 6, MONROE 5
JEFFERSON — The Cheesemakers nearly upset the No. 7 Eagles, but Jefferson scored in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly to steal the win on May 2.
Cole Meighan led the offense, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored. Ian Berg suffered the loss, giving up one run on one hit.

JEFFERSON — The Eagles attacked Cardinal starting pitcher Evan Senobe for 12 hits in a Rock Valley Conference game May 3.
Brodhead-Juda couldn’t keep up offensively, tallying just five hits. Ryan Searls had two of those hits. Senobe suffered the loss, giving up five runs on 10 hits. He struck out seven and didn’t issue a walk.

EVANSVILLE — The Cardinal offense couldn’t come together, scoring in just one inning against the Blue Devils on May 2.
Max Pinnow tallied two of the team’s five hits and drove in both of its runs. Sam Searls was charged with the loss, giving up two earned runs on six hits. He struck out five and walked two.

MONTICELLO — A six-run first from the Timberwolves set the tone in a Six Rivers crossover game on May 2. The offense supported a one-hit outing by Cael Koenig.
Aidan Brewer tallied the lone hit and also drew a walk. As a team, Monticello-Albany drew seven walks. Tyler Patchen suffered the loss, giving up six runs on three hits. He struck out one but walked five.

BENTON — The Miners swept the Ponies in a conference crossover doubleheader on May 3.
In the opener, Shullsburg-Benton scored in each of the six innings, wracking up 12 hits. In comparison, Monticello-Albany recorded four hits from four different players. Tyler Patchen had the timely hit, driving in two runs. Cody Pryce was charged with the loss, giving up three earned runs on six hits. He struck out eight and walked two.
In the nightcap, the Ponies scored two runs in the top of the eighth to take a 6-4 lead. The Miners proceeded to walk it off in the bottom of the frame with three runs. Heath Poppy had the game-winning hit.
Tyler Constantini was the spark atop the lineup, going 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Leon Parker suffered the loss, giving up three runs on two hits. He walked four.
