SOUTH WAYNE — Hannah Butler capped her decorated prep volleyball career with her third-straight player of the year selection in the Six Rivers East. The Black Hawk senior was one of three Warriors named first-team all-conference. Black Hawk head coach Rachel Wolff was the conference coach of the year.

Hannah Butler was joined on the first team by sister Bailey, a junior, and senior setter Maddy Huschitt. Senior hitter Kristen Knapp and junior hitter Makayla Mau were honorable mention all-conference picks.

Argyle sophomore Maggie Godfrey, Pecatonica sophomore Tessa Green and Monticello freshman Ellie Gustafson were first-team selections.

The second team was made up of Albany sophomore Brianna Dahl, Pecatonica junior Sydney Eaton, Monticello junior Mackie Errthum, Argyle sophomore Grace Ganshert, Juda senior Montana Steinmann and Barneveld junior Leah Marx.

Monticello senior Miah Brokopp and junior Alexa Siegenthaler were honorable mention selections. Juda seniors Taylor Golackson and Triniti Elmer were also on the honorable mention list, along with a trio of Argyle players — senior Claudia Miler and sophomores Tori Lantz and Megan Johnson. Pecatonica senior Val Carr was also an honorable mention pick, as was Albany senior Cindy Detra and Barneveld senior Kaylene Doescher.

Black Hawk won its second straight title this season, finishing unbeaten in league play (12-0). Monticello (10-2) was second, while Argyle took third.

Rock Valley Volleyball

BRODHEAD — The Cardinals reached the sectional semifinals for the first time in six years this fall, but before the tournament started, Brodhead finished 6-2 in the Rock Valley — good enough for third in the 10-team league.

Freshman Abbie Dix was named first-team all-conference for Brodhead, while teammates Katie Goecks and Alexis Kammerer earned second-team honors. Goecks is a senior, while Kammerer is a freshman. Catherine Speckman, a senior libero, was honorable mention.

McFarland finished the regular season undefeated in conference (9-0), with East Troy (8-1) second. The only loss for the conference champion Spartans (33-1 overall) was in the second match of the season at the UW-Whitewater Invitational to Lakeside Lutheran. McFarland, ranked fourth, defeated second-ranked Lakeside in a WIAA Division 2 sectional final Nov. 2 to reach the state tournament.

SWAL Volleyball

DARLINGTON — Conference champion Cuba City had four first-team all-conference picks in volleyball, including player of the year and coach of the year. Sophomore Hailey Stich was named the SWAL player of the year, and coach Keri Lawson was coach of the year.

Darlington had two first-team selections and two honorable mentions. Senior Lizzie Schwartz, a setter, and junior hitter Sydney Beasley were first-team picks for the Redbirds. Senior Brenna McDonald and junior Laura Sturtz were honorable mention.

Cuba City finished 11-1 in the SWAL, with Darlington second at 9-3, just ahead of Iowa-Grant (8-4).
