BRODHEAD — The Cardinals fended off Jefferson Jan. 28, 71-65, after leading by just one at halftime. 

Owen Leifker scored 23 points to lead the way for Brodhead. Brady Malkow finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds, his second double-double of the season. Cade Walker and Connor Green both added 9 points, while Josiah Engen tallied 8.

The Cardinals were 23 of 49 from the field, and 21 of 32 from the free throw line, which made up for an off night from deep. Brodhead was just 4-for-20 on 3-point shots.

Darlington 70, Southwestern 47

DARLINGTON — The Redbirds jumped out to a 12-point halftime lead and kept grinding in the second half of their game Jan. 28.

Carter Lancaster had 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists — his fourth double-double finish of the season. Curtis Stone and Hunter Hardyman each finished with 12 points for Darlington, and Will Murray added 11. 

Argyle 55, Albany 49

ALBANY — Clay Ritschard scored 21 points and Connor Carius added 10 as the Orioles returned to the court and snagged a win Jan. 30.

Albany trailed 24-17 at halftime. Clay Hulbert led the Comets with 17 points, while Carson Brewer added 13.
