Breaking: Black Hawk advances to sectional final

EVANSVILLE - The Black Hawk Warriors are one game away from a third-straight trip to state after defeating Fall River 62-45 at Evansville High School in a WIAA Division 5 sectional semifinal March 5.

Natalie Leuzinger scored 19 points to lead Black Hawk, while Bailey Butler had 16 and Hannah Butler 14. Hannah Butler was also a perfect 8 for 8 from the free throw line in the game, including hitting six in the second half.

The top-ranked Warriors (25-0) went into halftime ahead by just four points, but figured out how to pull away from Fall River (24-2) in the second half. 

Black Hawk, which now has a 53-game winning streak dating back to the 2018 state championship game, will play Oakfield in the sectional final at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Beaver Dam High School.
