ALBANY — With a 45-30 conference win over Juda on Dec. 15, Albany collected its third win of the season.
“We defended well the whole game, we just couldn’t get it to go in the hole,” Albany head coach Kurt Soderberg said.
The two teams tied the game up twice and exchanged the lead once before Nate Stokstad (9 pts) made a reverse layup that gave Albany an 8-7 that the Comets didn’t relinquish. They ended the half on a 9-3 run for a 15-10 advantage.
Albany built up a double-digit lead in the second half on a 3-pointer from Drew Sertle (7 pts) to make it a 26-15 game.
Kaden Zurfluh led Albany with 12 points, while Braydon Steinmann had 15 points for Juda.
“It’s a good learning experience,” first-year Juda head coach and Athletic Director Cole Mahlkuch said. “We have to find a way to overcome those.”
