PATCH GROVE - Competing against some of the top track and field programs from higher divisions in southwest Wisconsin, the Black Hawk Warriors had a successful day at the Timberwolf Invitational hosted by River Ridge High School, Monday.
The meet was rescheduled after being rained out Friday.
The Black Hawk girls track and field team placed fourth with 73 points. Junior Rachel Rygh gave the Warriors a pair of first-place finishes by winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.78 seconds and the 200 in 28.99 seconds. Senior Katie Place took second place in the triple jump (31 feet, 1/2 inches) for Black Hawk. Fennimore won the girls meet with 190 points.
In the boys meet, Black Hawk finished fifth with 66 points. Senior Cody Foster won the 300-meter hurdles in 44.92 seconds while senior Jake Meier took second in the long jump (18 feet, 10 inches). The Warriors' 400 relay team of Sev Eisele, Coltin Piefer, Tyler Quinn, Kyle Stauffacher, D.J. Warrell and Kyle Woodruff took third place with a time of 3:51.85. River Ridge took first place overall in the boys meet with 176 points.
