JUDA - The Juda-Albany softball team's bats are coming alive as the season goes on.

Juda-Albany (7-5, 3-0 Six Rivers East) pounded out 13 hits and the Panthers beat Evansville 10-1 in a non-conference game on Friday.

Senior C.J. Dunwiddie went 3-for-4 to lead the Panthers. Senior Katlyn DeVoe, junior Kirstie Kauk and sophomore Tabatha Davis were each 2-for-3.

"We have been hitting the ball well the last two games," Juda-Albany coach Bill Davis said. "That takes some of the pressure off Amber and the pitchers. It's a lot easier to pitch when you have a five-run lead instead of just a one-run lead."

Juda-Albany senior Katie Krupke pitched four innings and gave up one run on two hits. She struck out one and walked one. Senior Amber Ramos pitched three innings in relief and gave up one hit while striking out eight.

Davis tossed a three-hit shutout to lead Juda-Albany to a 10-0, five-inning win over Black Hawk on Thursday. Davis struck out eight in five innings for the Panthers.

Dunwiddie went 4-for-4 with a double and senior Katlyn DeVoe was 2-for-4 with a double.
