STOUGHTON - Tyler Johnson earned his sixth hat trick of the season but the Monroe boys co-op hockey team dropped a 6-3 decision to Milton on Friday night.
Milton led 3-0 before Johnson scored a goal late in the first period.
"We came out slow and couldn't capitalize on our power plays tonight," Monroe coach Josh Smith said. "And it hurt us in the end."
Johnson scored the final two goals of the game on power plays, both on assists by Cade Martin, in the third period.
The Avalanche (1-20) open WIAA play Tuesday at Kettle Moraine.
