WHITEWATER - Monroe senior Jordan Hirsbrunner captured two medals at the Wisconsin TFA state indoor meet Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Hirsbrunner finished fifth in the high jump after clearing 5 feet, 2 inches and took sixth in the 55-meter hurdles (8.82 seconds), which tied Jaclyn Ditter's indoor school record in the hurdles.

"That is an unbelievable accomplishment," Monroe girls track coach Matt Davis said of Hirsbrunner tying Ditter's school record in the 55 hurdles. "It tells you that she is right on track."

Hirsbrunner now has set or tied six school records, including records in the 300 hurdles, 55 hurdles, 800 relay, 1,600 relay, indoor high jump and indoor 200. Hirbsrunner is the defending Division 2 state champion in the 300 hurdles.

The Monroe girls track team took nine girls to the Wisconsin TFA meet and tied Green Bay Preble for 24th place as a team with seven points out of 43 teams.

"This meet is often called indoor state and is very competitive with the best athletes in Division, 1, 2 and 3," Davis said.

Monroe sophomore Cammi Ganshert took 10th in the 55 dash (7.62).

"She (Ganshert) ran well, but her competition was just incredible," Davis said. "There were some very fast girls in Whitewater."

Senior Josie Eberle finished 12th in the pole vault (9-6).

"She did well vaulting today and should begin to progress from here on out," Davis said.

The Cheesemakers' 1,600 relay team of Ganshert, junior Rachel Meier, junior Mya Waterman and Hirsbrunner took 14th place out of 43 teams with a time of 4 minutes, 23.17 seconds.

"Our time wasn't great, but we were competitive with many divisional and conference rivals," Davis said. "As the year progresses, and we get outside more and really begin to do the work I see our team only getting better and improving from here on out."
