WICHITA, Kan. - The Green County Gems gymnastics team brought home eight national champions and 36 medals from the YMCA National Championships that concluded Saturday.
Raevynn Jackson was the national champion in Level 1 on the all-around competition (36.5). She also won national titles on the uneven bars (9.35) and floor (9.5).
Kaylyn Albert won a national championship on the balance beam (9.65). She added a third-place finish in the all-around competition (36.5) and fourth place on the floor (9.35). Teammate Melanie Westgard won a national title in the all-around competition (36.85) and was second on the bars (9.25) and second on the floor (9.5). Desirae Signer won national championships on the floor (9.525) and on the vault (9.2). She added a fourth place on the beam (9.45) and fifth place all-around (36.325).
In the Level 2 competition, Morgan Schneeberger captured a national championship on the vault (9.375) and she captured second place on the floor (9.2) and second all-around (36.8). She claimed fifth place on the beam (9.225). Hailey Thompson won a national title on the bars (9.45) and finished second place all-around (36.5). She captured third place on the beam (9.175). Katrina Sathoff finished second place on the vault (9.475), fourth on the bars (9.225) and fifth all-around (35.975). Tess Nafzger took second place on the beam (9.3), fourth place on the floor (9.225) and sixth place all-around (36.275). Jessy Ruckman finished fourth place on bars (9.175) and fifth place on beam (9.225), while Kate Kundert finished fifth place on beam (9.075).
Jill Marty took sixth place on the floor (9.1) in Level 3 and Maddie Deegan was sixth place on beam (8.925).
Heather Burkhalter finished sixth place on the floor (8.6) and sixth place on the vault (8.45). Lizzy Brennan took fourth place on the vault in the Xcel Platinum division.
