BELOIT - The Rock County Fury girls hockey co-op team rolled to an 8-0 win over the Badger Lightning Monday.
Zoie Steig scored two goals and seven different players for the Fury scored in the game. With the win, the Fury improve to 14-2-2 overall and 7-0 in the Badger Conference.
The Fury broke the game open with four goals in the first period.
Dani Heitsman scored a goal at 1 minute, 19 seconds into the first period to give the Fury and early lead. It was just 22 seconds later when Haley Knauf scored a goal on assists from Sara Neard and Steig. Kaitlynn Beyer added a goal on assists by Ally Burke and Maggy Henschler at 3:32. Steig scored her second goal on assists from Haley Knauf and Katie Delabarre at 12:17 to give the Fury a 4-0 lead.
Alyssa Knauf scored on assists by Heitsman and Anika Einbeck at 1:36 in the second period to extend the lead to 5-0. Steig scored her second goal, while Henschler and Kylie Evans each added goals for the Fury.
