PRAIRIE DU SAC - The Monroe volleyball team looked to slow down some of Sauk Prairie's hitters, but the Eagles pulled out a 25-20, 25-8, 25-23 win over Monroe Tuesday.
"They are a good team," Monroe coach Heidi Witt said of Sauk Prairie. "They are becoming that unit when they play on all cylinders. They played scrappy. I think their confidence level is up. They are that close. They are starting to taste it. We were digging and blocking with them point for point. If we clean up some of our missed serves and have a little bit better serve receive it's a different game."
In the second set, the Eagles cruised as the Cheesemakers struggled with serve receive.
"In the second game our downfall was a lack of communication," Witt said. "Our serve receive and passing were just not on point."
Monroe senior Kari Jordan had four kills and four digs. Sophomore teammate Chloe Schroeder had four kills and one block. Sophomore Hannah Neuenschwander had nine assists, junior Hannah Vetterli added four aces and senior Lauren Curtis had three digs.
