FENNIMORE - Both the Albany boys and girls track teams ran to eighth-place finishes at the Fenn imore Invite Saturday.
Albany senior T.J. Bump won the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 17.50 seconds. The Comets' 3,200-meter relay team of Reece Whitehead, Drew Mather, Trent Kuebli and Tyler Conley finished first with a time of 9 minutes, 10.24 seconds, which was more than six seconds faster than Mount Horeb-Barneveld.
Mount Horeb-Barneveld outdistanced Fennimore 146-89 for the boys team title. The Comets took eighth with 48 points.
Mather took second in the 3,200 (10:35.93) and Whitehead as a sophomore finished fifth (11:13.19). Conley added a third-place finish in the 400 (:54.39).
Fennimore won the girls team title in dominating fashion by outdistancing runner-up River Ridge 154.50 to 84.50. The Albany girls track team finished eighth with 34.5 points.
Albany junior Rosy Bauman finished second in the 3,200 (13:27.47) and sophomore Jessica Mauerman was third (14:03.67).
The Comets' 3,200 relay team of Bauman, Mauerman, Courtney Pfeuti and Ciara Kubesh took second (10:56.79). Albany junior Hillary Best took third in the discus (97-feet, 10-inches).
