SPRING GREEN - Monroe finished in sixth place in the seven-team Badger South Conference meet Wednesday at House on the Rock Resort.
Sophomore Kyle Bruce finished 14th overall after shooting an 86 on the par 72 course. Bruce's mark led the Cheesemakers, which were 11 shots better than last-place Milton (364-375). According to the coaching staff, it was the team's lowest 18-hole score of the season.
Lucas Jordan carded a 90, Dylon Wilde had a 91 and Jessy Stagliano chipped in with a 96, rounding out Monroe's scores.
Madison Edgewood won the team meet with a total of 318 strokes. Monona Grove (333) was second, Stoughton (339) third, Fort Atkinson (345) fourth and Oregon (350) came in fifth.
Mad-ison Edge-wood sophomore Steffan Lake took top honors at the meet, carding a 75. Monroe now has a week to prepare for the Evansville Regional May 25 at Evansville Golf Club.
