Cards, Panthers stay alive

BRODHEAD - Junior Mariah Mohns went 2-for-4 with a triple, drove in a run and scored three times while junior pitcher Erika Stampfli tossed a five-hit shutout to lead the No. 1 seed Brodhead Cardinals to a 9-0 win over fourth-seeded Delavan-Darien in a Division 2 regional semifinal Tuesday.

Brodhead (15-2) will host No. 2 seed Edgerton Thursday in the regional championship.

Division 4

Juda 12, Monticello 1

JUDA - The Panthers scored seven runs in the third inning and sophomore pitcher Amber Ramos allowed just two hits as No. 1 seed Juda rolled past No. 5 seed Monticello, 12-1, in five innings in a Division 4 regional semifinal Tuesday.

Senior Tabitha Theiler and sophomore Katlyn DeVoe both went 2-for-2 to lead the Panthers. Ramos had five strikeouts.

Monticello ends its season 6-8. Juda (11-4) will host No. 2 seed Barneveld for the regional championship Thursday.

Barneveld 11, Argyle 0

BARNEVELD - Barneveld's Tory Schave blanked the Orioles on seven hits and the No. 2 seeded Eagles scored 10 runs over the first three innings to defeat Argyle, the No. 2 seed, 11-0 Tuesday in a Division 4 regional semifinal.

Jodi Fischer went 2-for-3 with a double for Argyle, which ends their season 10-7.

Barneveld will meet Juda for the regional championship Thursday.
