Cardinals roll past rival Vikings

BRODHEAD - The Brodhead-Juda co-op wrestling team picked up a 48-30 conference victory Tuesday over visiting Parkview.

Picking up wins for the Cardinals by way of pins were Justin Sangermano (126 pounds), Jordan Schubert (145), Brady Colden (170), Gavin Baade (182), Stephen Voights (220), and Logan Maurer (285).

Maurer, who is the No. 2 ranked wrestler in the Wisconsin Online poll, improved his record to 13-0. Maurer and Baade are coming off championships at the Sugar River Scramble. Baade improved his record to 8-0.

Also collecting victories were Derrick Hartman (152) who defeated Parkview's Trystyn Mould 6-4 and senior Tyler Davis (195) via forfeit. Brodhead-Juda's Tyler Hoesly (138) defeated Parkview's Aaron Hatlevig 6-3.

Sangermano pinned Parkview's Collin Hatlevig in 3 minutes, 1 second. Schubert pinned Parkview's Byron Brown in 1:05 and Colden pinned Jeffery Knudson in eight seconds. Baade pinned Josh Ponkausks in 45 seconds and Voights pinned Parkview's Chris Thompson in 46 seconds. Maurer pinned Pakview's Nick Shepherd in 29 seconds.

Brodhead-Juda, the Rock Valley South Conference champions last year, are looking to repeat as champions this year.
