JUDA - Senior Chelsea Burkhalter scored a team-high 21 points and reached the career 1,000-point milestone in the Juda girls basketball team's 67-37 loss to Barneveld on Tuesday.
Burkhalter knocked down five 3-pointers.
Barneveld's Teegan Pickarts scored a game-high 22 points, including five 3-pointers.
The Golden Eagles built a 39-14 lead at the half.
The Panthers made 7 of 15 from the free-throw line compared to the Eagles, who shot 15 of 21.
Black Hawk 63, Dodgeville 35
DODGEVILLE - Freshman Natalie Leuzinger scored a game-high 19 points, including four 3-pointers, to help the Warriors roll to a nonconference victory over Dodgeville.
With the win, Black Hawk (20-0) completes the regular season unbeaten.
The Warriors, ranked second in the Associated Press Division 5 state poll, opened up a 29-7 lead at the break.
Leuzinger grabbed eight rebounds and had five steals and led the Warriors' offensive attack that included eight 3-pointers as a team.
"It was relieving to go into the locker room and to have played as well as we have all season," said Mike Flanagan, who recorded his 251st win as the Black Hawk coach. "It was nice to see the girls finish it off well and get the job done. The expectations keep rising as the wins pile up. These kids have been able to handle that well."
Freshman Hannah Butler added 16 points and had five assists. Senior Sammy Lovelace chipped in eight points and had a team-high six assists.
"There are some games where we are the best shooting team I have ever coached," Flanagan said. "I don't know if we are there from a consistency standpoint. It's a matter of confidence and technique."
