ARGYLE - Let's just say Jordan Dean had a grand old time in the Comets' 9-8 victory in Argyle Monday evening.
The Albany senior crushed a grand slam, his second round-tripper of the young season, that capped a 5-run rally to give the Comets a 9-5 lead in the Six Rivers East tilt.
Drew Peach barely made the lead stand up, earning the victory out of the bullpen. Argyle rallied for three in the bottom half behind a 2-run triple by junior catcher Kevin Berg.
Four Comets and three Orioles collected multiple hits.
SIX RIVERS EAST
Barneveld 5, Black Hawk 1
Alex Abraham did the heavy lifting early, but a pair of pesky walks bit him in the end.
Black Hawk's ace went the distance and crushed a solo homer in the first inning, but two walks, coupled with two devastating errors allowed the Eagles to push five runs across in the fifth.
Eagles starter Kyle Thompson was lights-out aside from serving up the solo shot as he fanned 13 batters to Abraham's six.
Juda 8, Pecatonica 3
There are a couple of mighty big head stones that have already sprung up in Juda this season.
The Panthers took down their second giant of the year by jumping on Vikings starter Milton Kurschner for eight runs in the first three innings.
Tyler Lincoln went 3-for-3 with a home run and shortstop Steven West matched the 3-for-3 effort. Knuckleballer Jake Ramos struck out seven over the distance to get the victory.
The loss was Pecatonica's first in the league. Juda opened the season by defeating Black Hawk and is now 3-1 in conference.
