3 area men qualify for WSGA

STOUGHTON - Three area golfers qualified for the State Amateur Golf Tournament Tuesday.

The three qualifiers included Chuck Chandler of Blanchardville, Brent Quade, a Monroe graduate and Craig Hodgson of New Glarus. Each finished in the top 25 at the State Amateur Qualifying District 4 tournament at the Stoughton Country Club.

The 110th State Amateur Championship tournament is July 18-21 at Maple Bluff Country Club in Madison.

Chandler shot a 3-over-par 74 to tie for 12th. He had an eagle on the 495-yard No. 12. He also posted five birdies and had four pars.

Quade finished with a 4-over-par 75 and was in a four-way tie for 15th along with Hodgson. He pared 10 holes and birdied two. Quade picked up birdies on the 500-yard, No. 2 and the 510-yard No. 15.

Hodgson birdied the 495-yard No. 12 and the 345-yard No. 17. He also posted 10 pars.

Monroe graduate Brandon Wilson and Argyle's Travis Erickson each shot a nine-over-80 to finish in a 10-way tie for 49th.
