Tim Soddy 1960-2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Tim Soddy of Monroe, WI. Tim passed away at the Monroe Hospice Home on January 9, 2022 after a valiant battle with esophageal cancer.

Timothy Jon Soddy was born July 20, 1960 to Charles and Carolyn (Spring) Soddy. He attended school in Monroe and graduated from Monroe High School in 1978. He enjoyed a fulfilling career working for John Deere, Industrial Combustion, and most recently, Triangle Truck Center Inc. of Monroe. Tim had a variety of talents which he enjoyed sharing with his community. Tim loved all things mechanical and could often be found in the garage, tinkering with cars, motorcycles, or bikes. He frequently helped his children with household projects and answered many phone calls asking him for advice when something wasn’t working. In recent years, he became interested in genealogy and spent many hours charting the Soddy Family Tree. He was able to trace his ancestors all the way back to the Mayflower. Along with his family, the most important part of Tim’s life was his faith. A devout Christian, Tim could often be found serenading area churches as a member of the quartet ‘4 His Praise.’

Tim is survived by his four children, Megan (Chris) Walters of Neenah and their children Christian, Eleanor, and Dylan; Joe (Jennie) Soddy of Kaukauna and their children Jacob and Josephine; Callie (Matt) Jones of Evansville and their children Macy, Finley, Makyler, and Kiara; and Taylor (Chelsea) Soddy of Durham, NC and their son, Clayton; his siblings Laurie (John) Thill of Albany, Michael (Daniel Bitnar) Soddy of Key West, FL, Lonna (Steve) Mayer of Monroe, Jerry (Gina) Soddy of Shullsburg, Dan (Laurie) Soddy of Franklin, and LeAnn (Dean) Anderson of Port Washington; as well numerous nieces and nephews, and many extended family members and friends. Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Brian Soddy; and nephew Craig Thill.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Saucerman Cemetery.  Following the service, a Celebration of Tim’s Life will be held at the Monroe United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM.  Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. “Until we meet again.”
