Ruthella Mae Rufer, age 80, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison, surrounded by her family.  She was born on September 8, 1942 the daughter of Homer and Esther (Phillips) Wardlow.  She graduated from Monroe High School. 

Ruth married Larry Rufer on September 12, 2003 in Monroe.  She owned her own cleaning business for many years.  She was a member of Women of the Moose and enjoyed watching NASCAR. 

Ruth is survived by her husband, Larry; children, David (Denee Benkert) Block of Monroe, Donna (Ernie) Jovani of Lake Geneva, Dean (Fayth) Block of Monroe, Deanna Ingwell of Milwaukee; step-children, Alan (Kris) Rufer of Monroe and Angie (Ed) Meighan of Onalaska; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and one that is due in October.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Margorie Geick, Betty Naff, Shirley Bernet, Victor Wardlow, Doris Utt, James Wardlow, and Mike Wardlow.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor John Tabaka officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. 

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
