Richard A. Youngwith Sr.

Richard A. Youngwith Sr. age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7th, 2022, at Pleasant View Nursing home in Monroe, with his family at his side.  He was born the son of Paul and Olga (Schmid) Youngwith on May 10th, 1928, in South Beloit, IL. After graduating high school in South Beloit, IL., Richard was drafted into the United States Army in November 1950.  After being honorably discharged in 1952 he married Patricia E. Ryan and they started their family in Beloit.  Richard worked at Fairbanks Morse where he used his military training for diesel engines.  In 1969, he moved to Monroe and worked for Advance Transformer until he retired in 1991. 

Richard is survived by his children, Teresa (Rick) Babcock of Beloit, Cindy (Phil) Vangsnes of Green Bay, Doug (Nerida) of Bellevue, WA, and Marcy Youngwith of Monroe; daughter-in-law Janice (Richard Jr.) Youngwith of Carol Stream, IL; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and two sisters: Willabelle Heilman of South Beloit, IL., and Dorothy Sewell of Milton, WI.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, son Richard and 9 siblings.

He was a member of St. Victor’s Catholic Church.  In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, and putting together jig-saw puzzles.  His family meant the world to him, and he will be sadly and fondly missed by his family and friends.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 20th, at 11 am at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Father Tafadzwa Kushamba officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.  Visitation will be at 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner11.com.
