Ramona D. DeNure

Ramona D. DeNure, age 86 of rural Argyle, WI passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Lafayette County Manor in Darlington, WI. She was born on October 13, 1936, in the Wiota Township, WI the daughter of Elmer and Dorothy (Johnson) Melland. Ramona attended the Cherry Branch School in South Wayne, WI. She was united in marriage to Kenneth DeNure on May 14, 1955, at the East Wiota Church. Ramona and Ken lived in Wiota where they dairy farmed for 31 years and later retiring to the village of Argyle.

 

Ramona is survived by her children: Diane (Jim) Elmer, Daryl (Lois) DeNure, Donald DeNure, Delbert (Vicky) DeNure, and Doreen (Greg) Gothard; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; her brother and sisters: Calvin (Mert) Melland, Winogene Everson, and Juanita (Jeff) Kant; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ken; two brothers: Walter Melland and Alvin Melland; two sisters: Muriel Halverson and Marjorie Mau; two grandchildren: Bryant Gabioud and Devon Gabioud; one great-grandson: Henry Heller; three brothers-in-law: Lester Mau, Roy Halverson, and Robert Everson; and one sister-in-law: Lois Melland.

 

Ramona was a lifelong member of Wiota Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards and could often times be seen driving her moped enjoying a ride around the community. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

 

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church with Vicar Myron Crawford officiating. Burial will be in East Wiota Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
