Michael “Mike” W. Howald, 67, of Forreston, IL passed away Tuesday December 12, 2023 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born October 25, 1956 in Monroe, WI to Walter and RoseMary (Doyle) Howald. Mike was a field representative for Prairie Farms/Swiss Valley for many years. He enjoyed fishing, farming, looking after his cows, and spending time with friends at the coffee shop. Mike was known for his sense of humor and he loved giving people unique nicknames. Most of all, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids.

 He is survived by his son Jacob (Jaymie) Howald of Winnebago, IL; two grandchildren Jagger and Bexley Howald of Winnebago, IL; daughter Michaela Howald of Rockford, IL; mother RoseMary Howald of Forreston, IL; six siblings Heidi Howald-Petralli of Switzerland, Randy (Jayne) Howald of Forreston, IL, Timmy Howald of Forreston, IL, Trudi (Shawn) Weber of Carmel, IN, Sharon (Michael) Anderson of Sycamore, IL, and Shawn Howald of Winnebago, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

 Preceding Mike in death is his father Walter and several aunts and uncles.

 Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday December 21, 2023 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston, IL with Rev. Lyle Greenfield officiating. A visitation will be held following the service from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
