Lee Elwood Johnson, age 91, of Monroe, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at his home. He was born the son of Clifford and Ruth (Jacobson) Johnson in Colona Township, Illinois. He was a graduate of Annawan High School in Illinois.

Lee proudly served his country in the Army Air Force from 1953-1955. He worked for Carter Motor Company in Warren, Il; he was also a security guard for Advance Transformer, and he retired as a farmer. He was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Community Church in Geneseo, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Shirley Dietz.

He will be laid to rest next to his parents in Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo, IL., on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 12:00pm Noon. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
