Kevin Callahan, age 58, of New Glarus, WI, passed away unexpectedly on May 5th, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, and pillar of the community, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service.
Kevin was the beloved husband of Chris Callahan (Bauer), his partner in life for 32 years. They met at UW Madison, where Kevin pursued consumer science. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures with their 2 children Colin (28) and Natalie (26).
He was cherished by his mother Julia O’Reilly and his father late Judge John Callahan. He is further survived by sisters, Carrie, Kathi, and mother-in-law Bernadine Bauer.
As a dedicated member of the Green County community, Kevin made a lasting impact through his work at Colony Brands and his leadership in various organizations. His contributions to the Monroe Arts Center, Green County YMCA, and BadgerLand Foundation were particularly notable, where he spearheaded initiatives that enriched the lives of others. Kevin's leadership was instrumental in raising $4.6 million to expand the Monroe Arts Center, a testament to his commitment to the arts and community development.
Outside of his professional life, Kevin found joy in spending time outdoors, especially at the family cabin, and participating in half marathons alongside his beloved wife, Chris. He cherished moments with his children and family, always offering unwavering support and encouragement.
Kevin's charismatic personality, charm, and positive outlook on life touched everyone he met, leaving a lasting impression of warmth and generosity. His passion for making the world a better place was evident in everything he did.
A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at the Monroe Arts Center on Saturday, June 15th. at 2:00 pm, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Monroe Arts Center are encouraged.
