Kenneth E. Morris, age 90, entered heaven on Tuesday,
November 27, 2018 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. He
was born on December 14, 1927 in Henry, Illinois, the son of Benjamin and
Katherine (Davis) Morris. He attended Henry High School. Kenneth married Rayona
Schindel on Feburary 3, 1951 in Bureau, Illinois. Ken farmed in IL and WI for
23 years, and then he worked for Ruefs Sanitary Service in Darlington for 22
years, retiring in 1992. After his retirement, Ken worked part time for a
Tractor Supply Company in Princeton, IL for 12 years. Ken lived in Darlington
from 1959 to 1977; then he moved to Monroe and lived here from 1977 to 1994;
then he moved to Princeton, IL and lived there until 2012 when he moved back to
Monroe. Ken was a member of the Shooting Park Road Baptist Church in Peru,
Illinois. Upon returning to Monroe, he worshiped at Faith Baptist Church in
Monroe.
He is survived by his wife, Rayona Morris at Pleasant View Nursing Home; 3 children: Jill O’Brien of Winter Haven, FL, Jack (Gail) Morris of Monroe, and Jay Morris of Pueblo, CO; 2 grandchildren, Chris (Elise) Morris and Hillary (Nick) Holcomb; and 3 great-grandchildren, Henry and Luke Morris and Emma Holcomb. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Harold, Connie, and James Morris; 4 sisters: Lillian Wallace, Gladys Haun, Lerene Stanley, and Margaret Berg.
A Visitation was held at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home in Monroe, WI on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM.
Funeral Services were held at 12PM Noon at NORBERG MEMORIAL HOME in Princeton, IL on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 where Pastor Bob Leverton, Jr. of Faith Baptist Church in Monroe, WI officiated. A visitation was held at Norberg’s from 11:00AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial immediately followed service at Elm Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Princeton, IL.
