Kathryn J. “Kay” Fazel, age 77, of Monroe passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the SSM Health Hospice Home.  She was born on February 23, 1946, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Donald and Muriel (Murphy) Daley.  Kay was a graduate of Monroe High School, class of 1964.  She continued her education at Blackhawk Technical College, where she earned an Associate Degree in accounting.  Kay married the love of her life Dennis Fazel on December 7, 1968 at St. Victor’s Catholic Church. 

Kay served as an accountant for Moore Business Forms for over 30 years, from 1969 to 2001.  After leaving Moore’s, she worked for Dearth Motors from 2001 until her retirement in 2017.  Kay was an active woman who loved to stay busy.  She and her husband, Dennis, shared a love for sports and were often seen golfing, bowling, or curling together.  They were members of the Alpine Curling Club.  After retirement, Kay enjoyed playing cards with Dennis and her friends, shopping, and going for coffee.  She was also on the Board of Directors at the Behring Senior Center, where she enjoyed participating in exercise classes. Kay especially cherished her time with her grandchildren and grand-dogs.

Kay is survived by her husband, Dennis; her daughter, Dani (Dan DeNure) Jackson of Monroe; and her grandchildren, Hayden and Collin Jackson.  She is also survived by her siblings, Jerry Daley, Denise (Denny) Klang, and Mike (Jeannine) Daley; and brothers-in-law, Christopher (Sharon) Fazel and Richard Fazel. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kimberly Anne; sister, Colleen Daley; and sister-in-law, Mary Daley. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victors Catholic Church with Father Joseph Bellamkonda as celebrant.  A private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
