WINSLOW – John P. Schultz, 75 of Winslow passed away on August 31, 2018 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI, under Agrace Hospice Care. He was born on February 18, 1943 in Prairie Du Sac, WI. John liked spending time out at his Uncle Calvin Sprecher’s farm, with his brother Greg. He delivered milk in glass bottles to families cupboard doors. John joined the US Army after graduating high school, where he became a cook. He enjoyed watching deer and cooking shows on TV, and his beloved cats. He had many other skills, working as a mechanic, delivering office desks and other heavy items, a car salesman, and also working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, he was also a night auditor at Cedarburg Inn, in Sauk City, WI. John and Carol met at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in February of 1986, after eight years of dating, they were joined in holy matrimony on June 3, 1995 at the Winslow Methodist Church. Together they shared 32 years. He was a very giving man; he would do anything for anyone, including fixing their cars and buying them gas.

He is survived by his wife, Carol E. Hastings, brother Greg (Millie) Schultz, sisters Caryl (Dick) Piernot and Linda Schultz.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Shirley (Sprecher) Schultz; aunt and uncle Cleo and Calvin Sprecher and a cousin Jr Sprecher.

A visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Leamon Funeral home in Winslow, IL with a brief memorial service immediately following.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.
