Jason L. Strothman, age 42, of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Jason was born on February 24, 1976 in Monroe, the son of Mick Strothman and Debbie (Surrell) Wenger. He was a 1995 graduate of Monroe High School where he was a state qualifier during his junior year of wrestling. Jason worked at several jobs in the Monroe area, most recently in construction with his father. He adored his four children and loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his children, Kaydee, Kamy, Abby, and Lyric; his mother, Debbie Wenger of Monroe; father, Mick Strothman of Twin Grove; brother, Aaron (Jessica) Wenger of Browntown; two sisters, Jennifer (Ryan) Blaser of Browntown, and April Wenger of Orangeville, Il; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Surrell of South Wayne; step-father, David Wenger of Monroe; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tom Surrell; paternal grandparents, Norman Strothman and Stella Svendsen; and step-grandparents; Ernie and Carol Wenger.
A celebration of Jason’s life will be held at Papa Don’s Horseshoe Saloon on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 starting at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe.
