James ‘Jimmy’ Ritschard

James ‘Jimmy’ Ritschard, age 67 of Monticello, died Saturday, December 23, 2023 at home.  He was born on August 8, 1956 in Monroe, the son of Donald and Evelyn (Schuetz) Ritschard. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1974. Jimmy and Lisa Daubert were married October 13, 1984 in Monticello. Jimmy was a farmer his entire life – farming was his passion. He loved looking at the crops in late summer and admiring the colorful strips of cattle feed. He was extremely proud of his sons and the lives and families they are growing. He recently celebrated Kyle and Ryan’s wedding and was excited about Dustin and Mykenzie expecting his third grand-child, a sibling, to Laker and Birdie, who made his eyes sparkle. Jimmy loved music, often staying up late, spinning vinyl records for countless friends who would stop by his chicken coop for time of love and laughter. He would often take a drive to Cuba City to hunt for albums to add to his collection. Speaking of collections, Jimmy was an avid American Indian Artifacts collector. He loved walking freshly plowed fields after a rain to hunt for arrowheads. He proudly displayed them in his “rock room.” Jimmy also enjoyed his evening cruises with his faithful dog, Frankee, throughout Washington Township where he would stop to visit friends. Jimmy was a member of Washington Reformation Church, the Central States Archaeological Society, and he collected vinyl records. He loved his family dearly and was always helping anyone and everyone in any way he could.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa of Monticello; sons: Kyle (Ryan Ziltner) Ritschard of Monroe and Dustin (Mykenzie) Ritschard of New Glarus;  grandchildren: Laker and Birdie; siblings: Sue (Dave) Wild, Vicki (Jake Disch) Ritschard, John (Tammy) Ritschard, Jeff Ritschard, Dan (Brenda) Ritschard; Mother and Father-in-law, Armin and Ginny Daubert; brother-in-law, Scott (Marsha) Daubert; sister-in-law, DeeDee Bruns; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Roger and brother-in-law, Tim Bruns.
