Hans F. Schmidt

Hans F. Schmidt, 33, Monroe, WI.  On May 16, 2022, we lost our beloved Husband, Father, Son, Grandson, Nephew and Friend as a result of a tragic auto accident.  He was an outstanding operator, mechanic, welder, farmer and fixer and was the hardest working young man we could ever know and love.  He adored his wife and children as much as they loved him.

Hans was born in Monroe on November 3, 1988 to Craig and Ruth Ann.  He lived his entire life in the area surrounding Monroe.  He graduated from Monroe High School in 2007 and attended Fox Valley Tech as well as Blackhawk Tech, learning more about his love of farming.  Hans and Brooke were married at their farm on September 2, 2017, surrounded by their families.  He was a man of few words, never one to complain, and was the happiest he could be when he was working around his shop or the farm, surrounded by Brooke, Braxton, Kolt and Oaklee.  He will be forever remembered as a gentle and kind man that would drop everything to lend a hand to anyone that needed it.

He had many passions but ATV racing, snowmobiling and farming were at the top of the list.  He loved to be outdoors and loved the snow.  Brooke and the kids loved to snowmobile as much as he did and they loved their trips up north riding.  The hot tub was always their reward for a cold day riding.

Hans is survived by his wife, Brooke, and their children Braxton Cole Levi (11), Kolt Roger Lee (7) and Oaklee Ann Marie (5), his parents, Ruth Ann and Joe Klein and Bobbi Schmidt, a close cousin, Derek (Lisa) Rufer, his father and mother-in-law, Rick and Tina Barr, his brothers-in-law, Josh (Kortni) Doescher, Brandon (Abby) Doescher, Lucas Barr, his sister-in-law, Ericka (Bridget) Foreman, his grandparents, Ken and Dottie Rufer, Velma Klein, and Marjorie Schmidt, and many cousins, nieces, aunts and uncles.

Hans was preceded in death by his father, Craig Schmidt, his grandfathers, Roger Schmidt and Duane Klein, grandmother, Wanda Blum, and his uncles, Scott Schmidt, Mark Rufer, David Rufer, and Mike Georgeson.

Hans will be missed and loved by everyone that ever knew him and he will live on through his children and the sweet tooths that they inherited from him.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:30-5:30 PM on Monday, May 23, 2022 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather informally at Bennett’s Junction House starting at 6:00 PM Monday, after the visitation.
