Geraldine “Gerry” Miller, age 89, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at St. Clare Friedensheim.  She was born on December 19, 1932 the daughter of Milton and Beulah (Davidson) Rabe.  She graduated from Monroe High School and later graduated from Cosmetology School in Janesville.  On August 9, 1953 she married David Miller, they just celebrated 69 years together.

Gerry lived in Monroe her entire life; she was a cosmetologist for three years before starting her family and staying home to raise her children.  She was a longtime active member of Union Presbyterian Church in Monroe; as well as being the secretary for over 25 years until she retired.  Gerry loved to sing, she sang in the choir at church as well as in Sweet Adeline’s.  She loved sewing, she made her own wedding gown as well as clothes for her kids; she always had a project going on.  Also, she will be remembered for her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls; she would always make your favorite dish whenever you visited.  Some of her pastimes included puzzles, playing Rummy, bingo, and watching soap opera tv.  Gerry easily made friends, and enjoyed spending time with people.  She was always a positive person with a smile on her face.  Gerry had an incredible ability to find a four-leaf clover on a regular basis.  

Gerry is survived by her husband, David of New Glarus; children, Diane (Al) Lindsay of Lombard, IL, and Steve (Greg) Miller of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Kayla (Fiance, John Fisher) Lindsay of Oak Park, IL and Megan (Samuel) Sievert of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Virgil (Nancy) Rabe of Marshall, MO; sisters, Evelyn (Jim) Skurich of Fridley, MN, and CorlynRauscher of Pembroke Pines, FL; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Leon, Ardith, Dwight, Dale, Wayne, and Ann in infancy.  

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Union Presbyterian Church in Monroe with Pastor Stacy Cavanaugh officiating.  Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.  Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences may be sent to: shriner111.com.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Presbyterian Church for the Music Ministry.
