Eleanor M. Erickson, age 84 of Darlington, WI passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Shullsburg Home in Shullsburg, WI. She was born in Darlington on July 9, 1934, the daughter of Charles and Eleanor (Poppa) Pickett. She graduated from Darlington High School. Eleanor lived in Waukesha before returning to Darlington in 1970. She worked at Borg Instrument, Crandall Oil, both of Darlington, and later at Point IGA in Mineral Point until her retirement.

Eleanor is survived by her three children: Bernadine “Bernie” (Bruce) Holcomb of Clinton, WI, Geraldine “Geri” (Tom) Hammes of La Crosse, WI, and Mike (Linda) Erickson of Darlington; 7 grandchildren: Shanna (Mike Calabrese) Holcomb, Tyler (Jessica) Holcomb, Jessica Hammes, Eryn Hammes, Mitchell (Katelyn) Erickson, Alex (Kelsi) Erickson, and Brett (Shannon McDaniel) Erickson; three sisters: Eileen Barth of Shullsburg, Betty Merriam of Darlington, and Beverly Martin of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Raymond, Roger and Robert Pickett; two sisters: Marion Hocking and Iva Kammerud. 

Eleanor was a member of the Darlington United Methodist Church in Darlington. She loved going on long walks and spending time with her family. She always looked forward to attending her grandchildren’s activities over the years. Eleanor was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her beloved Redbirds. She was also a huge fan of Edy’s Caramel Delight ice cream and could often be seen walking home with her gallon of Edy’s in tow. Eleanor will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Darlington United Methodist Church (546 Park Place, Darlington) with Rev. Angela Utter officiating. Burial will be held in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the church from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.
