Eldon Fredrick Grossen, age 82, of Monticello passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 at the SSM Health Hospice Home.  He was born on June 16, 1941 the son of Fred and Wilma (Thomann) Grossen in Monroe.  Eldon was united in marriage to Darlene Benson on June 23, 1962 in Lamont, WI. 

Eldon was a dairy farmer for many years.  He also dehorned cattle for 50 years, worked at Washington Implement, Roth Case Cheese in Belleville, and for the D.N.R. at the New Glarus Parks.  Eldon was a member of the Washington Reformation Church and the Moose Lodge.  He served on the Washington Township Board for 48 years.

Eldon is survived by his wife, Darlene Grossen of Monticello; daughters, Holly (David) Schmid of Monroe and Heidi Stauffer of Brooklyn; grandchildren, Courtney (Dylan Manthei) Schmid of Poynette and Kelly (Brandon) Byrne of Monroe; great-granddaughter, Brinley; brother, Gordon (Sandra) Grossen of Monticello; and special nephew, Brian (Kathleen) Grossen and family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Washington Reformation Church with Pastor Kelly Volk officiating.  Burial will be held at a later time at Washington Reformation Cemetery. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: Shriner111.com.
