Diana R. Weckerly age 80 of Monroe, died Sunday, September 6, 2020 peacefully with her family at her side. She was born on January 26, 1940 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Orlin and Ruth (Fleming) Weeks. She graduated from Monroe High School. Diana married Alan G. Weckerly on October 4, 1958 at St. John’s United Church of Christ. She was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., where she taught Sunday school and choir; she also was part of the Bell Choir and the Sanctuary Choir for over 30 years. Diana was a Girl Scout Leader, she loved quilting and was a member of the Courthaus Quilters. She was also a volunteer for many years at the Green County Fair.

She is survived by her husband, Alan Weckerly of Monroe; children: Alan (Patricia) Weckerly Jr. of Cleveland, OH, Scott (Judy) Weckerly of Nashville, TN, Brenda (Matthew Becker) Weckerly of Hatfield, PA, and Cindy (Matthew) Wilcox of Monroe; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Floyd (Jackie) Weeks of Thomaston, GA; sisters: Linda (Mike) Deininger of Monroe and Gerry (Richard) Gobeli of Winter Park, FL; plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Dawn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 11, 2020 at St. John’s United Church of Christ with Reverend Todd Hackman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.
