Dennis Eugene Lauer, 81, of Monroe, WI passed away on October 22. Dennis was born on September 14, 1940 to Clarence and Esther (Hagen) Lauer, and lived in Janesville, WI until moving to Monroe in 1988. He was a loving husband to his wife of 50 years, and a proud father.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Rodney and Kenneth, and sister-in-law Judy Lauer and brother-in-law, Robert Thompson. He is survived by his wife Betsy (Armfield) Lauer, daughter Doni (Ken) Thomas, granddaughter Wriglie, son Tony (Ashley) Lauer, sister Carol Thompson, three foster children, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dennis was a proud lifetime foundryman and retired in 2004 from Citation Browntown as a Pattern Engineer. His passions included working on his home, cars, tractors, and his 1904 Case Steam Engine of which he was most proud. He was a long time volunteer on the piledriver at the Rock River Thresheree.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 29, 2021 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, with Reverend Jeffry Meyers officiating. Burial will be in Cooksville cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
