Dale Stanton Davis, age 88, of Juda, died peacefully at Pleasant View Nursing Home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, surrounded by his family. Dale was born on December 14, 1932 in Oakley, Wisconsin, the son of Guy and Bessie (Fehr) Davis. He was very proud to have lived and farmed on the family homestead. Dale attended Oakley Rural School and graduated from Juda High School in 1950. He was the school’s first FFA president. Dale met the love of his life, Kathleen Kurtz, at a barn dance in Rock Grove and they were married on February 18, 1952 at the EUB parsonage in Juda. The couple raised six children on the family farm teaching them the value of hard work and the joy of softball. Dale (Whiz) played fast pitch and slow pitch softball for several teams in the area including the Treuhardt Rustlers, Who’s on First, and Juda Merchants. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in all sports and was proud when his granddaughters followed in his footsteps and became pitchers. When Dale wasn’t on the farm or on the ballfield, he enjoyed fishing. He took a yearly fishing trip with his lifelong friends, and when the fish weren’t biting, they could be found playing Euchre or at the casino. Dale loved spending time with his family and had the best memories of family gatherings. He was a member of Oakley Union United Methodist Church and the Oakley Union Cemetery Board.
Dale is survived by his wife of 69 years, Kathleen Davis; and five children, Dan (Judy) Davis of Rockton, IL, Scott (Kristi) Davis, Penny (Cruz) Ramos, Bill (Traci) Davis, all of Juda, Mary Legler (Anthony Antonio) of Stoughton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Laura (Matt) Bambrick, Jeff (Gwendolyn) Davis, David (Melissa) Davis, Todd Davis, Lyn Ramos, Jacob Ramos, Amber Ramos, Tyler Davis, Tabatha Davis, Trent Davis, Evan Legler, Brycen Antonio, nine great grandchildren with two on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tom Davis; five brothers, Harold, Burton, Clyde, Delton, Duane “Joe”; and two sisters, Betty Borden and Mary Lou Nowatzki.
