Charlene Helen Kirkley, age 84, died Thursday April 23, 2020 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on a farm in rural Gratiot on February 23, 1936 to Clifford and Helen Wick. She attended rural country school and graduated from Gratiot High School in 1954.

Char worked for Microswitch in Warren, Ill. She then moved to Chicago where she worked at several companies, the last of which was Headco Industries in Broadview, Ill.

An illness brought her back to Wisconsin, settling in South Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Clarion Wick, and nephew Craig Wick. She is survived by a sister Carin (Donald) Miller; sister-in-law, Kathryn Wick; as well as nieces and nephews.

A private grave side service will be held at the West Wiota Lutheran Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at a later date. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
