Carole J. Gille, age 76 of Golden Valley, AZ formerly of rural Argyle, WI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Golden Valley, AZ. She was born March 16, 1945, the daughter of Leo and Elma (Carey) Mau. Carole grew up in the Gratiot area where she graduated from Gratiot High School. She was united in marriage to Darrell Gille on March 25, 1960 and spent 60 wonderful years together. Carole worked at BJ Petro – Blanchardville Co-Op, volunteered at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI, and farmed near Woodford, WI for 50 years until retiring to Golden Valley, AZ in 2010 where she has resided since.
Carole is survived by her husband Darrell at home; her children: Sherrell (Bruce) Ruegsegger, Cathy (Jeff) Pfeuti, Tammy (Randy) Larson and Nicholas (Jennifer) Gille; her grandchildren: Scott (Nicole) Ruegsegger, Wendy (Dennis) Ruegsegger, Sarah (Mark) Ruegsegger, Brandon Pfeuti, Ethan (Taylor) Pfeuti, Courtney Pfeuti, Joseph (Jessica) Martin, Kaitlyn Larson, Megan Larson, Cassandra (James) Rugg, and Hailey Gille; her great-grandchildren: Alexis (Cade) Winn, Javian Ruegsegger, Mackenzie, Madeline, and Makayla Ruegsegger, Brooke and Mya Bunker, Natalie Ruegsegger, Brooks Pfeuti, Ava, Maycee, Laylaa, and Bryson Martin; her great-great-grandchildren: Everleigh and Finleigh Winn; one brother: Richard (Margaret) Mau; two sisters: Dorothy (LaVerne) Bower and Elaine Simons; her In-laws: Jan Mau, Joyce Paulson, Vernon (Eleanor) Gille, Donald (Delva) Gille, Erlene (Wally) Graber, Kenneth (Janice) Gille, David (Rosemary) Gille, Judy Mau and Nola (Terry) Haldiman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Jennifer Gille; two grandsons: Ryan Ruegsegger and Nathan Larson; two brothers: Robert Mau and William Mau; two sisters: Ruthie Mau in infancy and Shirley Meyers; her parents-in-law: Carl and Bernice Gille; a sister-in-law: Judy Mau; and three brothers-in-law: Gerald Paulson, Gene Simons, and Bernard McKenna.
Carole was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gratiot and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Laughlin, NV. She enjoyed going to church in Laughlin, going to concerts, traveling whenever they could, and most of all enjoyed going to the casinos and playing cards. Carole’s family was the most important thing to her. The memories they created together will be cherished by her entire family for the rest of their lives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gratiot with Rev. Peter Lee officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Gratiot. A visitation will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
