Anna Kathryn Burkhalter, age 99, of Monroe peacefully passed away on October 31, 2023 at the Edenbrook Nursing Home in Platteville.  She was born on April 17, 1924 the daughter of William and Elise (Baumann) Timmons in Monroe, WI.  She graduated from Monroe High School.  Anna was united in marriage to Lloyd Burkhalter on March 18, 1945.

Anna spent much of her life being a homemaker, creating a warm and loving home for her family. She was proud to be a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.  Anna enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, and watching Badger sports. An avid fan of nature, she could often be found tending to her garden. Above all, Anna cherished the time she spent with her family, finding joy in the company of her children and grandchildren.

Anna is survived by her children, Larry (Joy) Burkhalter of South Wayne, Gary (Debbie) Burkhalter of Browntown, JoAnn (Gary) McGuire of Browntown, and Laureen (Tom) Presny of Janesville; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Don Timmons of Richfield, MN and Wes Timmons of Lodi.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; and brother, Bill Timmons.

A Celebration of Anna’s Life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 2:00-5:00 PM at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.  Burial will held at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.
