Woman hurt; 2 men arrested after hit-and-run wreck

BRODHEAD - A rural Brodhead woman was in fair condition this morning after being injured Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Decatur township.

Jo Ann K. Arn, 54, was eastbound on County OK in a 2003 Nissan 350z Coupe approaching County F when an eastbound Dodge Ram truck struck her. The truck then left the scene.

Arn was flown from the scene via Med-Flight to University of Wisconsin Hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries. A UW Hospital spokesperson this morning said Arn was in fair condition.

Arn's vehicle suffered major rear end damage and was towed from the scene.

The 1994 Dodge Ram truck later was located at a rural Brodhead residence. The truck sustained major front end damage and was towed.

Jacob L. Elsner, 26, rural Brodhead, was arrested for hit and run causing great bodily injury and causing great bodily harm by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. Michael T. Vogel, 21, rural Albany, was arrested for hit and run causing great bodily injury.

Brodhead Fire and Brodhead EMS, the Green County Sheriff's Department, Brodhead Police, Janesville Fire Department paramedics and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene.

The crash is under investigation by the sheriff's department and the state patrol.
